Cruise Travel Insurance
Cruises are costly may require large payments or deposits made well in advance of your trip. A trip cancellation or interruption could cause you to lose some or all of your prepaid expenses, often several thousand dollars. Therefore, it is important to buy trip insurance to protect your travel investment.
Your cruise company may also offer you travel insurance but doesn't it make sense to shop for your Travel Insurance too? You shopped for your cruise. Now you can easily shop for your insurance!
Often times the agent booking the cruise might include the price of insurance in the total cost of the trip. Next time ask "How much is the insurance? I think I'll shop around and will let you know if I need your coverage".
If the cruise company's travel insurance is priced fairly then great. Go for it . But make sure the policy will pay back your non-refundable trip cost in cash if you do cancel for a covered reason. Some cruise lines might just give you voucher for another cruise instead of cash . Double check that fine print!
