Cancel For Any Reason /Interrupt For Any Reason
Cancel For Any Reason (CFAR) coverage is recommended for those who may want to cancel a trip for reasons that are not covered under the standard "covered reasons" found within a travel insurance policy.
Fear or uncertainty due to worldwide events such as the Zika Virus or Terrorism can make CFAR coverage a very viable option for you because fear and anxiety are not covered reasons for trip cancellation.
Cancel For Any Reason coverage allows you to Cancel your trip up to 48 hours before your departure date and receive a 75% reimbursement of your non-refundable insured trip costs. To qualify for this benefit you must purchase within 14 to 21 days (depending on the plan you are considering) of your initial trip deposit and insure all pre-paid trip costs. If you wait too long this coverage option will not be available.

The plan I'm considering returns 75% of the trip cost if I cancel. Does that 75% apply to all reasons for cancellation?
No. The 75% of trip cost only applies to the reasons that are not stated within the standard policy language. For example, unforeseen illnesses or injuries that would cause you to cancel the trip would return 100% of your trip cost as stated within the standard policy language.
What is a "Cancel for Any Reason" policy? Doesn't regular trip insurance cover trip cancellation?
A "Cancel for Any Reason" policy will provide some coverage for trip cancellation for reasons that are not outlined in the standard policy wording. Fear of traveling to your destination would be a good example of something not covered by standard travel insurance.
